Favorite Family Recipe - Chocolate Gravy

Our pretty daughter has enjoyed cooking since she was very little.

We would help her stand on a chair and she stirred and tasted alongside us.

She could cook better than me by the time she was about 8.  ;-)

Her paternal grandmother taught her how to make chocolate gravy, one of her favorite dishes.

Our pretty girl is 30 now.  The recipe is a bit smudged and rumpled these days, but I cherish her sweet handwriting.

What have you been cooking?

  1. Oh, how adorable, Marci! I've never heard of chocolate gravy but I'm sure it's delicious on sweet breads and other scrumptious dishes. Your daughter was a cutie pie back then and I'm sure she's a beauty now! It's awesome that she started cooking at such a young age. That's the foundation of a great cook!

  3. What a wonderful thing to keep. I have all of my mother's recipe files, mostly hand written cards with her notes of successes and failures. - Margy
