Garden Guest: Male Cardinal on a Windy Day

The north side of our front yard is a certified  National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat.  Really!  We have a certificate!  You can do the same by providing food, water, cover and places for wildlife to raise their young.  It is so much fun to see all of the critters that stop by for a visit.  Children love it!

Ruffled feathers.

What's happening in your back yard?

Tuesdays with a Twist #407 It's a link party!

This Valentine inspired mixed media illustration is for Deuteronomy 6:5  Love the Lord, our God, with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength.

The blue hearts were sort of doodled in pencil then colored with lettering in Micron pens.  The pink hearts are a doily and some fuzzy stickers.  This was a super fun page!

You're the Star | February | Week 2

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one because they can help each other succeed. For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls alone. Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm; but how can one person alone keep warm? And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

My page is created with decoupaged napkins as well as a little pen and colored pencil for lettering and details.

You're the Star | February | Week 1

Today's verses were Proverbs 8:17 which can be seen, Matthew 6:20 and I Chronicles 22:19 "Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul." ❤
I'm still practicing drawing tutorials from youtube with pencil and colored pencils. The lettering is in Crayola marker. I love the idea that Jesus hangs my scribbles on His refrigerator. 🙂 My Father is the King of Kings.

Trashy 90's Makeover

Does anyone remember the 90's?  Tall bangs and permed hair were all the rage.  Being someone who has naturally crazy curls as well as a cow lick in the middle of my forehead, that was a great style for me!  I pretty much wake up like that!  Is there anything you miss about the 90's?

Tuesdays with a Twist #405 - Come party with us!

This was supposed to be for Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." However, I ended up using Mark 11:22 - 25 along with Mark 11:9.  The page was created with watercolors and markers.

Backyard Flock in Winter

It's been quite some time since our backyard flock has been the topic for a post.  This shot was snapped last week, capturing five of our thirteen chickens.  The red rooster and three hens are bantams.  The round black rooster is cochin.

We love watching them forage around the back yard.

So much Fabric, So little Time

Many of you know I enjoy participating in monthly challenges with bloggers who are much more talented.  I wasn't super committed to January's soiree because the theme was organization.  Heaven knows I need more that in my life, especially in the bedroom dedicated to crafts.  It is always a wreck.  All.  Ways.  A.  Wreck.

So, it was overwhelming to consider getting something completed on a specific deadline.

Tuesdays with a Twist #403

Our news this week...  Here's another Bible Journaling page.  Can you tell I'm having lots of fun with these?

I guess this page is a two-for-one. 🤷‍♀️ It began with Jesus' gift of peace. John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid❤️ BUT, John 15:12 was also on this page. My command is this: Love one another as I have loved you. ❤️
The water color spatter tree is a tutorial from blog, The Postman's Knock. 'Can't remember where the darling owl cut file is from right now, as I did not pin it. GAH! Hopefully, I'll remember and can let you know 😉

Tuesdays with a Twist #402 - Link with us!

Our news this week...  Here's another Bible Journaling page.

The verse is Romans 12:21 :: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  This one was created with watercolors, acrylic paint, markers, pencil and the polka dot car is a cut file. I thought about writing "evil" somewhere along the road, allowing the little automobile to squish it, but instead chose "overcome" for the sky.
