Our news this week... The temps have been mild here in Arkansas. We spent a lovely evening playing putt putt golf and then went to dinner. Any excuse to be outside, right? ;-)

Pelican Shot from a Cannon
Living in the landlocked state of Arkansas smack in the middle of the United States, visiting the beach is a big treat for us.

Let's Party! Tuesdays with a Twist
Our news this week... The weather has been surprisingly mild for August in Arkansas, cool and rainy. We usually see our hottest temps this time of year. With all the lovely rain comes lots of mowing and weeding. Sunday, I had a wonderful time shopping with one of our granddaughters. She will be turning 7 very soon and asked for a shopping trip "like the teenagers get". First we went to lunch, then shopped for some clothes and accessories. When she started getting tired, a scoop of chocolate ice cream ended the day. My goodness! Seven years have passed quickly! ;-)

Somewhere on a Beach - Craft Room De Stash Challenge
It's so nice to whittle away at my overwhelming supply of crafty doo dads! This month may seem like an odd mix, but we are painting our bathroom and my completed project will probably be going in there.

Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island
Our vacation to Colorado is coming soon. We are making plans and thinking about which spots we want to visit. So, that makes me realize just how few photos have been published from our trip to Dauphin Island. EESH! That trip was way back in February. It's never too late to post about an Alabama Vacation, right?

Who's Ready for a Party? Tuesdays with a Twist
Our news this week... Summer is winding down. There will be school buses buzzing thru the neighborhood again, beginning tomorrow morning. I love seeing all the cute children in their shiny new shoes, carrying their crisp but heavy laden backpacks. It's almost harvest time for apples and pumpkins, isn't it?

Favorite Family Recipe * OOPS Lemon Pie *
Are you ready for a sentimental post? Maybe it's the comforting combination of food and family that always gets me a bit misty when writing for this particular type of challenge? 'Not sure. Today, I'm sharing our Son-In-Law's favorite pie along with photos from the day he 'officially' became a member of our family.

Garden Guest: Swallowtail on Calibrachoa
The north side of our front yard is a certified National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat. Really! We have a certificate! You can do the same by providing food, water, cover and places for wildlife to raise their young. It is so much fun to see all of the critters that stop by for a visit. Children love it!

Tuesdays with a Twist *LINK PARTY*
Our news this week... Handsome Husband took some time away from work so our grandson could spend a few days with us before returning to school. Mr. Big Stuff is 12 now! None of us are getting younger, are we? ;-) They had a great time together doing all kinds of "boy stuff". I had to work, but enjoyed the evenings with them. Saturday, we played some intense 36 holes of putt putt golf then went to lunch at a nearby pizza place. Summer is winding down, isn't it?
