Our news this week... We did a bit of back to school shopping with the teens. It was fun to hang out with them for a while. They are very slow to make decisions on purchases, but everyone now has a backpack. The long list of supplies still need to be purchased, but the kiddos are getting excited to begin school again. The three youngest grandchildren begin a week earlier than the older ones. August is almost here!

No Thank You
One of my favorite blogs is Healthy Helper. Today, Kaila has taken on the writing prompt "No Thank You" and discusses some things she would rather not have in her life. Her post then transitions to expressing gratitude for favorite activities, items and people with "Thank You, More Please".
I think both are wonderful writing prompts, but have limited myself to five for the "No Thank You" list. In no particular order, this is what popped into my head.

Garden Guest: All Natural Insect Control
The north side of our front yard is a certified National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat. Really! We have a certificate! You can do the same by providing food, water, cover and places for wildlife to raise their young. It is so much fun to see all of the critters that stop by for a visit. Children love it!

Yo Yo Party People! It's Tuesdays with a Twist Time
Our news this week... Rain and cooler temps visited our area the last couple of days, for which we are very grateful. Our rain barrels were completely empty and plants were looking awfully crispy. This morning though, things are much greener.

Herbs: A Place to Begin - Lemon Balm Tea
Being part of our county's Master Gardener Speakers Guild has been a lot of fun. My program is titled "Herbs: A Place to Begin". It is for anyone who might be curious about growing herbs or is just beginning to use them. I give simple advice for ways to incorporate tasty herbs into your every day life. After such a sweet reception to my presentation, I've been adding regular posts about herbs.

Are You Ready for a Party? Tuesdays with a Twist
Our news this week... It's definitely Summer here in Arkansas. We attended a pool party Saturday afternoon and had a wonderful time. The big activity for Sunday was digging potatoes and then cleaning up that row. Any excuse to be outside makes us happy! ;-) What do you love about Summer?

Thrifty Finds
One man's trash... ;-)
I recently got to spend a day with my Fabulous Aunt and had a wonderful time! There will be a post about the view where we had lunch, but today, I wanted to show you my finds at a local Thrift Store we visited. My photos were taken before the treasure was dusted. OOPS!
