One of my favorite co-workers has a daughter that just graduated college and now she is planning a wedding! According to her dad, she loves old black and white movies and music from the 40's!

I wanted our gift to be something modern, but with a vintage twist! A black and white theme seems appropriate, don't you think? I chose candles along with a very pretty journal. Nothing says "Romance" quite like candlelight! ;-)
These two fragrances, Black Sands and Fresh Cotton Blossom, smell very clean and combine nicely. I love having a black candle option!

Now, back to the vintage vibe wrapping...
This gorgeous box is mostly soft gray and pink with gold foil accents. When using the flash on our camera, the foil steals the show!
Without the flash, though, the beautiful birds, branches, and flowers are center stage.
I love the hinged lid and antiqued lining.
For a bit of sparkle, I added crumpled gold tissue paper along with some charcoal and silver satin ribbon.
The journal and candles were wrapped individually in the gold paper with a simple knot of satin ribbon. Everyone hopped into the box, and I tied a big floppy bow on the outside. What is it about satin ribbon that makes anything feel a bit more lux?

Right now, my favorite fragrances are Black Sands, Cotton Blossom and Early Morning Mist. My Handsome Husband has asthma and some fragrances bother him. These do not. If I burn different ones in adjoining rooms, these three scents make a lovely combination!

ReplyDeleteThe Honeysuckle Blossom Scented Would be great! It reminds me of my childhood. My Mema had a honeysuckle bush in her backyard and I would always pick the flowers and suck the juice. They were so yummy!
