Garden Guest: Swallowtail

The north side of our front yard is a certified National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat. Really! We have a certificate! It is so much fun to see all of the critters that stop by for a visit. I'm beginning a new series of posts to show you our Garden Guests.

This beauty is a Black Swallowtail caterpillar munching away on parsley.

I can't think of a clever segue into Tuesday Tunes today so my song is a completely random choice.

I hope your day is filled with beauty!

  2. Very nice song choice this week. As always, thanks for linking up!! xoxo Holli

  3. Certainly is a beautiful choice. We don't always need intervals in music to appreciate it at it's best!

ps.......that caterpillar sure is a handsome little fellow.

  4. We recently hosted black swallowtails and posted a video on YouTube about it. What an amazing sight! Enjoy!

  5. The song is beautiful, and it's so appropriate for a catepillar. It goes through life peacefully moving towards the day that it will become a butterfly.

  10. Unfortunately we host the same caterpillars and we used to have parsley too - they ate it ALL!

  11. I'd love to know what we can do to improve the numbers and kinds of butterflies in our yard.

  12. Good Morning! Last month I planted so many flower seeds just for the bees and butterflies!
