Tuesdays with a Twist #204 PARTY TIME!!

Our News This Week...  Spring weather arrived this weekend and it is wonderful!  Handsome Husband worked up part of the garden so I could get the potatoes planted.  I love playing in the dirt!  Did you notice my month long link party that began last week?  It's called Celebrating Spring!  I hope you have time to join the fun!

This isn't the spot where I usually post a photo of myself, but I wanted you to see how curly my hair is.  It was taken while we were on vacation in Alabama on a very humid and windy day.  'Always makes me smile to be in or near a National Park  ;-)

I've begun co-hosting a party that lasts all month called You're the Star!  I hope you can join that one, too!

And now for today's party!

Each co-host will be sharing her own picks for Features. This gives everyone a better chance of being chosen.  Be sure to check all of our blogs!

Crocheting a Bear

Crochet is something I enjoy, but seldom get to.

I am especially proud of this little bear.  The pattern was part of a kit that was a gift to me at Christmas.

There are so many fun kits available.

Do you like to play with yarn?  What have you been making?

Celebrating Spring Link Party and Tutorial for Romanov Inspired Egg

It's an exciting day!  I have a tutorial for this Romanov Inspired egg, and

I am co-hosting a Link Party with these lovelies...

Two Chicks and a Mom

Please link any family friendly post, old or new, that celebrates Spring!

My tutorial for a Romanov inspired egg...

OK.  Let's face it.  My little glue sticks do not even begin to compare to the jewelers who work for Faberge', but what amazing inspiration!  Just look at these!

I had a wonderful time cruising photos of the fabulous Romanov Eggs for ideas on color combinations, pattern and proportions.

The adventure begins by blowing eggs any time I needed one for whatever recipe.  Check it out!  I have twenty-two!  ;-)

Next was dying them.  Since they are blown, the eggs don't sink.  I had to weight them gently to hold them under the dye.

Then I just started playing with shimmery rick rack, but was careful to leave the little holes open on each end of the egg.  After a bit of experimenting, glue dots seemed to work the best for attaching anything to the egg.

I have an interesting collection of buttons along with a stash of mismatched and broken jewelry.  Here are some options!  ;-)

I cut about a 12 inch length of fine gauge wire.  A button and then the egg was threaded onto it.  The large gold button holds the bottom of the egg.  A couple of buttons and small bead were added above the egg.  A post earring with a pearl drop was pressed into the side.

'Can't wait to work on the other twenty-one eggs!

I am excited to see your links, too!  Let's party!

;-)  -Marci

Vacation Overview

We had a wonderful week away celebrating 31 years of marriage.  One night in Natchez, Mississippi; four nights in Orange Beach, Alabama; and one night in Memphis, Tennessee.  Here's a quick overview in selfies which, seriously, we don't know how to take.  ;-)  I'll be posting plenty more photos though!

The view from our room's balcony was pretty spectacular.  Lots of time was spent right here.

Pelicans at Gulf State Park Pier

The view at the top made climbing all those stairs totally worth the effort!  Yes, my curls are natural.  Yes, it was humid and windy.  ;-)

Pensacola was just a few minutes' drive from our hotel.

Photos of my Handsome Husband always generate questions about beard care.  He really does have a big gorgeous beard.  Beard combs and balms are purchased HERE

Here's to us!
