Framed Patchwork Heart

Happy Groundhog Eve!  ;-)  Tomorrow is the big day.  Do you think The Groundhog, Phil, will see his shadow?  Gee, I hope not!  ;-)  Our winter has been so mild, we're all a bit confused around here and ready for the vibrant colors of Spring!

Take a look at how I brightened up this little table with a patchwork heart!  (Come back to see how these decanters were used at the Baby Shower we recently hosted!)

It's a very simple project.  Choosing cardstock may have been the most difficult part!

Spend $50, save $10 on office supplies. Valid 1/29-2/4

I went with an 8.5" x 11" beige piece for the background and a scrap of 12" x 12" from a Christmas pack for the top.  I just folded the squares pattern cardstock in half and drew a free hand heart like I did for THIS WREATH and then cut it.  If you look closely, you can see the crease in the center.  That color combo really catches my eye!

For a bit of shimmer, red and green glitter glue was crisscrossed down some of  the lines.

To bump up the red, different sizes of rick rack were added with regular white glue.

This super cute bow shaped button has been in my stash for ages.  Small rick rack was threaded thru the button holes and held in place with a large glue dot.

Once all the glue dried, I tucked it into a frame.  That glitter really caught the flash in this photo.  My little patchwork heart sits on a small corner table atop a scruffy vintage mirror with a collection of decanters.

Happy Groundhog Eve!  ;-)  If there is such a thing.  Maybe I can start a new trend!  ;-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Soon, we will be saying Happy Spring!  'Very soon!
