Welcome to our "One Acre Farm". Join us in our daily adventures!
That would be a Prickly Pear Cactus and the red fruit provides many with jelly. It does look out-of-place with a dusting of snow. A little embarrassed in hindsight, but I used to take a pick axe and "murder" these succulents on our 40-acre Colorado ranch. I didn't like my horses brushing against them and being the recipient of the cactus spine when cleaning hooves.
Thank you for the ID! Prickly Pear Cactus Jelly. Hmmm... Do you have a recipe? I would love to try it. The fruit is a beautiful wine color. I bet the jelly would be gorgeous!
Thank you for visiting my Stone Cottage! I love hearing from you! Just recently, though, anonymous comments have been blocked.
