Cimarron Pets

How handsome is this fella?

We pulled into Cimarron, New Mexico just as the sun was setting and noticed some deer barely off the road near St. James Hotel.

The next morning they were calmly grazing and moving slowly around the town as we went for a little stroll with our camera.

We were cautious and did not approach them, but you can see how close this walker is getting to the Mule Deer.  (The bigger lens was on my camera to zoom.)  They were so tame, it seemed as if they were the town's pets.

On a crisp September morning in Cimarron, these gorgeous creatures were quite entertaining!

Does your town have pets?

  1. Hello Marci, awesome shots of the deer. The buck is beautiful. I would not get to close these wild critters. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend.

  2. We see lots of deer here but never such big bucks. I think they stay in the woods while the doe and babies wander about
