The Ojai Wrap Pattern Tour and Giveaway

by Justine Marie Patterns

Is it possible to leap through your computer screen and hug another blogger? No?  Well, it's probably just as well because that's exactly what I wanted to do when Justine invited me on this pattern tour!  She is the author of Sew Country Chick, one of my FAVE blogs, full of inspiration for newbies like me!

Here's my creation!  Ta Da!

I had certainly admired this shawl collar wrap cardigan with a slight high low hem!  Isn't that easy fit wonderful?!  Being the only female in my group at work, the office always feels cold to me!  This is a perfect little layer for Spring, Summer and Fall!  With heavier fabric, it could roll through Winter, too!

I love to sew, but am self-taught and not very skilled.  Beginners can definitely handle this pattern.  The Ojai Wrap only needs 2 yards of fabric and whips up easily in half a day, cutting (and distractions) included.  There are no zippers or button holes.

These photographs show the first one I made using who-knows-what-it-is fabric that was in my stash.  It was found at a thrift store and a total steal!  You've seen it before in my Messenger Bag!  I love the vintage vibe and thought it would be a fun option for this cardigan.

I followed the directions for size Extra Large.  (I am very curvy, 5 feet 4 inches, and wear size 6 jeans.  It is a struggle for me to find things that aren't too tight on top.)

The Extra Large fit well except for the length.  I think it's a bit too long for me, but I really like it with my jeans!  Sleeve tabs are an option for the pattern.  I chose to leave them off this time, but just might change my mind.  ;-)

The directions were easy to understand and Justine included lots of photos.

I love my new Ojai Wraps!  Yes, wraps!  There are two more that I can't wait to show you!  In the other two, I actually followed my Twenty Wishes Wish #12!  I am so proud of myself!

Come back and see the other two!  I'd love to hear what you think!  Oh, and get this!  Justine is giving away 5 of these wonderful patterns!  Enter below!

  9. That's really cute! I almost always have to have a light covering when I'm in the AC. I like that it's easy for a beginner as I'm very very rusty at sewing but ready to give it another go :)
