It's time for Sew Our Stash! (Click HERE to see my January Project.) If you’re new around here, one of my 20 Wishes is to sew one thing for myself each month so I can participate in Sew Our Stash! It is the brain child of Marissa at Rae Gun Ramblings and Bev at Flamingo Toes. They share what they have made for themselves the last Thursday of every month. It started because they wanted to sew more wearables and needed some accountability. While I'm certainly not at their level yet, hopefully, my skill sets will be stretched throughout the year!
That's the total point of 20 Wishes. Making time for what I WANT to do! So, here goes!
I made this splashy orange top for my February project.
I used a pattern from Stitch Savvy by Deborah Moebes (It was at my public library!) along with fabric from Yards and Yards of Yard Sales.
Here's the back and a closer look at the fabric.
Today, our weather is kind of chilly and I need to run about a bazillion errands, so it's being worn with boots, Levi's and a jacket.
How do you think it should be styled for work?
I always want to call Patty and the Visible Monday Ladies!

I love the retro vibe of this material!

It always feels great to make your own, when you go out you will not see the same outfit on someone else.

Oh Marci! Look at you sew! I'm envious and that top is adorable on you. I love the fun, bright colors. I can't even begin to imagine sewing a top, but you've done a great job. I would be the last person to advise anyone on how to style an outfit for work.
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous, Marci!!! The top looks great with jeans, boots and a jacket. Maybe you could wear it as is for work:-)
ReplyDeleteYes you look great in that top! Its perfect with the boots and jacket you're wearing.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Marci -- congrats on a neat finish. Karen
ReplyDeleteLove the blouse and I have always liked Raglan sleeves. The complete outfil looks awesome! Stopping by from Treasure Box Tuesday.

This looks like it could be very versatile and used with a lot of different pant colors. White for spring, dark for winter etc. Thanks for linking up at The Four Seasons Blog Hop! Sandra from Scrumptilicious 4 You! We would love to have you come back next week!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I really like the colors and fabric. I'd wear it to work with a denim pencil skirt and tights. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by...so glad the post helped. This is such a creative piece!
ReplyDeleteYou made that pretty blouse?! WOW! I'm so impressed!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of blue and orange combined in print or solids ... great choice of print for you well executed project. Fab with your jeans, or a skirt, or white slacks later. Depends on your office. With a blazer of any one of several colors? Perhaps pretty orangy-tan heels or tan shoe-ties? Neat!
