Gift Wrap Theme for 2017

Our Christmas shopping is almost complete, so wrapping has begun!

I'm generally not a big fan of traditional paper, but

I do like simple, rustic options.  Most of our gifts will be wearing scuffed brown paper with either raffia or a bit of ribbon with hand made gift tags.

This hard candy card stock was in my stash and cut into tags and monograms for just a tiny splash of color.

When my DIY Pillow Covers sparked the idea of having brown paper packages tied up with string, I had expected to purchase the paper.  When our online purchases began to arrive, several used this brown craft paper for packing.  It was perfect for my theme AND it was free!  Merry Christmas to me!  So, far nothing has been purchased for gift wrap.  I've been able to use packing paper with bits and bobs from my craft and sewing stash.

How are you wrapping gifts this year?

  1. I like brown paper embellished with bits and pieces at hand. Your first gift especially is lovely, Marci. I'm aiming for a few sewn fabric bags, but the majority will be brown craft paper, or brown paper saved throughout the year from paper bags.

  2. Very cute - I like the simple, rustic look of the paper and the gift tags do add a nice pop of color.

  3. Love this! I found an unopened roll of brown Kraft paper at a thrift store for next to nothing. I am using it for Christmas wrapping - love the rustic charm of it.
Stopping by from Thursday Favorite Things linky party!

  6. Love the lace touches - I used brown paper this year too, but mainly because I ran out of paper, but loved it! Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo

  7. I always love brown craft paper for wrapping gifts. It evokes a 'homey' feeling and that's what I love about the season the most. Loved this post.
