Book Review: Old Roses

The New Plant Library

by Andrew Mikolajski

A partial synopsis from Good Reads Everything you need to know about old roses...

A photo from my garden, this beauty is a climbing Queen Elizabeth.

My Thoughts:  I think roses represent something for each of us, especially the old fragrant ones.  Pink ones remind me of my Great Aunt Drue as she grew them along the fence outside her living room windows.  Yellow roses were my Daddy's favorite.  White and champagne ones made up my wedding bouquet.  This lovely little book has a guide to rose varieties along with lots of tips for planting and care.

What is your favorite rose?  Does it bring back a specific memory?

  3. I don't know what the rose is called, but it is yellow with a touch of apricot/peach. My mom had them in her garden and now my middle son has them in his. They are beautiful!
