Savoring the last Days of Summer

I have some late season flower arrangements for you today!

There are four mature crepe myrtles in our yard, one of the last shrubs to bloom in our area.  I love to arrange these long sturdy stems "by hand".  My best tutorial for this method, if you are interested ;-) can be found right HERE.  Crepe Myrtle are beautiful in monochromatic bouquets as well as mixed ones.

This chippy white pitcher is a favorite container for crepe myrtle as it is very heavy.

This old mirror belonged to my paternal grandparents.  I love placing it under any arrangement as it doubles the view and catches any pretties that drop from the flora.

Any leftover bits are placed in smaller containers.  This tiny vase is an old glass baby food jar and graces my nightstand.

Atop our piano alongside kerosene lamps, short stems of crepe myrtle are held upright in a tall shot glass.  They lend a lovely bit of color.

How do you savor the last days of Summer?
