I {heart} Books

Many of you know the card in my wallet that sees the most action is my library card!  Read Across America is celebrated on March 2 this year.

It's fun to review the reading challenges and suggested book lists.

One option that caught my attention is all about "traveling" thru the US by reading selections that either took place in that state or maybe the author is from the state.  'Sounds fun, huh?

Here is the NEA list for my home state, Arkansas:

  • Bill Clinton: President of the 90’s by Robert Cwiklik
  • Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene
  • Buckaroo by Betty Traylor
  • Cracking the Wall: The Struggles of the Little Rock Nine by Eileen Lucas
  • Falling From Grace by Ann McNichols
  • Gravy on a Bucket Lid by Eddie Bowman
  • Only the Names Remain: The Cherokee and the Trail of Tears by Alex W. Bealer

Here are some that I would add:

Are there books or authors that you think represent your home state?

(FYI...  I have a little giveaway going on right HERE for a couple of books.)
