Cradles for Sisters

We were shopping at a delightfully dusty flea market on the edge of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and I found this charming doll cradle!

Even though it was a bit grimy, I could see tons of potential and thought it would be perfect for my first adventure into shabby chic plaster painting.  One problem.  There are two little girls in our family and we only had one cradle.

Handsome Husband used the first one as a pattern and in no time at all, we had two!  He sure is handy to have around!  ;-)

With just a bit of plaster paint, the sweet baby beds were quickly transformed.  Isn't it amazing what different colors can do for a project?!

'Not sure where these darling tulips came from, but they were in my craft stash and added with hot glue.  I thought they worked really well.

I'd like to sew bedding, but am a little stuck on what fabric would be the cutest.

Any ideas or suggestions?  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  4. Tulips are my favorite flower so I love that one more. Super cute and very lucky to have a handy handsome. I bet your 2 girls are in love with their new cradles. You can also fill them up instead of an Easter basket.

  8. I prefer the tulips too! As for fabric how about hello kitty print for the love heart one and a sweet little flower or butterfly print for the tulips?
