Garden Guest: Baby Blue Jay

The north side of our front yard is a certified  National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat.  Really!  We have a certificate!  You can do the same by providing food, water, cover and places for wildlife to raise their young.  It is so much fun to see all of the critters that stop by for a visit.  Children love it!

This past Spring, Blue Jays built a nest in our grand old oak that holds the swings Handsome Husband has built.

When it was time for their babies to fly, they were all around us each evening.

'Such a joy!

What's happening in your back yard?

  1. Oh my goodness! So adorable. No, I had no idea you could certify your yard. That's amazing!

  2. How cute is that little guy. I have 4 Blue Jays that hang around throughout the year. I've never seen a baby. So cute. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Thanks for sharing your sweet little baby blue friend!

  4. There's nothing cuter than a baby bird! AAAWWWW! We have lots of birds showing up at our feeders this week. Time to fly South for so many! Happy weekend!

  5. Hello, it is great to have such a nice habitat for the wildlife. I'd love to see the baby Blue Jays. They are here just not in my yard as babies. Great photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend. PS, thanks so much for leaving me a comment.
