If you read my "To Do" List for Autumn, you already know part of this story!
Our adorable Second Grade Granddaughter entered a pumpkin decorating contest for school. Prizes will be awarded for cutest, scariest, and most creative. She says she's not a "scary" kind of girl, but hopes to win one of the other trophies! Her plan all along was to create a pink pig!
We purchased one large, one medium and four small pumpkins. The key to the biggest one was to have a spot to place the head and a nice stem for the tail. For the smallest ones, they needed to be as flat as possible to stack underneath as feet.
Our cutie pie practiced painting the face on paper before tackling the task on her medium pumpkin. How cute is her grinning pig?! Ears were cut from a chipboard box in the recycle bin, then painted matching pink. The most difficult part was placing the head with wooden shish-ka-bob skewers.
Here's the side view.
Here's the front.
Definitely the Cutest, Most Creative Pumpkin I know! And the pig is darling, too!
