Have you noticed the date? June has flown by just like all the other months. Christmas will be here before we know it.
Speaking of Christmas...
Each year I give our children a copy of at least one photo that is special to our family. It's been baby photos, family photos of us or older generations.
They love having these treasures passed down to them. What should I choose this year?

After my husband's adopted parents passed away, their lovely farm was sold. Just recently, the new owners dozed down the home.
Their barn is still standing even though no one is using it. After asking for permission, I spent an evening there with our camera.

Handsome Husband built the door on the right.
The horses and saddles are long gone.
Even though it is in disrepair, our children will recognize any photo of it.
They've spent many hours on this piece of earth.
Running and playing and laughing.
Maybe one of these photos will be cherished by our children? I'll have to choose one or make a collage? ;-) Which photo is your favorite?
Will you please come back tomorrow and join our Christmas in July party? It will run the entire month. New and old posts are welcome as long as they are family friendly.

Giving a gift of a photo each year is a sweet idea, Marci. What a special keepsake. The photos are all wonderful, but I especially love the close up of the trees. It's lovely.
ReplyDeleteMarci, This is a wonderful gift idea that is sure to be cherished for generations to come! You have so many lovely photos to choose from!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea and your pictures turned out great. You should definitely enlarge and frame the barn pic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, I am glad they did not bull doze the barn,Makes tears to my eyes.

I liked each photo! I couldn't possibly pick one! So sad they bull-dozed the old home. Doesn't it make you sad that new owners don't keep it the way it was? Too much to expect I guess, but human nature to resist change. Great idea to preserve bits of the past in photos. I'm glad your children cherish them!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!! What a great idea, I love that. I couldn't pick just one. Could you make a mini-book of the photos? That would be so special, a book to leaf through so that all of your gorgeous pictures would be included. I
ReplyDeleteThose golden hour photos are always the best. I really like your idea of sharing special photos with your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! A storehouse of memories for your family. My grandma's old house was dozed down also... and there are very few pictures of it... how I wish I could take my digital camera and click pictures of every angle of it, inside and out, to share with my children. They love hearing about the place, even though it was just a run down old farmhouse... the memories my siblings and I made there made it seem wonderful! :) I do not know how you would choose just one picture, but my favorite is of the whole barn.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is gorgeous! And then the one of the inside with the light streaming in. And THEN the tree trunks by the fence...
