If you would like some entertainment around your yard, get a few chickens!
Our flock is mixed. This is our little red, bantam rooster. He is the current patriarch.
I couldn't help but smile when I noticed a wren was fluffing her nest with one of his tail feathers! At first I thought it was a black snack and was considering my defense options when, thankfully, I realized the wrens were not under attack, just decorating.
Our second rooster is a Cochin with black feathers all the way down his legs, like fancy boots. He is sweet and gentle.
All the girls are crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.
As one of the oldest hens, Carolyn is our current matriarch, but she shares her duties nicely with Agatha and Dodi.
