Fabric Pumpkins for September's Upcycle Challenge

Pumpkin-Spice-Everything Season is just around the corner!

I love the monthly craft challenges from this talented group:

My project is pretty simple, really.  While on Facebook, I noticed a video on how to How to Make Toilet Paper Pumpkins.  Toilet paper pumpkins?  It's so easy!  Just tuck fabric scraps around a roll of toilet paper.  Next, press a short stick into the center with a bit of green fabric or ribbon for the leaves.

I grabbed some jars, vases and even a candle for a bit of size diversity compared to the rolls of toilet paper.  Fabric scraps, a scarf and a table napkin were also gathered for the fun.  Handsome Husband cut a small branch into 4 inch lengths for me.

From left to right, back row:  Honey Jar wearing a scarf and scrap of ribbon, Toilet Paper Roll wearing orange fabric with a bit of green gingham, Tall Candle in orange fabric with green gingham.  Front Row:  Short Vase in orange fabric with green gingham, Toilet Paper Roll in gold table napkin with green gingham, Pint Jar in paisley fabric with green gingham.

Now there are cute little pumpkins tucked all around our home.  Isn't it lovely what a vibrant splash of orange can do to spice up a vignette?  (see what I did there?  spice?  haha)

Happy Pumpkin Spice Everything Season!

  4. This is such a cute way to also display and wrap just toilet paper rolls to decorate the bathroom for fall, Marci! Using different size containers also makes it adorable, too!
