Book Review: The Joy of Smoking and Salt Curing

by Monte Burch

A partial synpsis from Good Reads:  Here is the next title in the popular The Joy of … series—an easy-to-understand, beautifully illustrated guide to smoking and salt curing. Learn how to preserve meat, fish, and game and create delicious smoked and cured foods.

My Thoughts:  This was a gift to Handsome Husband for Christmas.  Y'all know what a geek I am about books!  ;-)  He has been smoking meats for quite a while, but has never attempted curing.  The recipe for Canadian Bacon was tried first.  It's surprisingly easy and super tasty!  Next, he experimented with the recipe for Deer Summer Sausage.  Wow!  It's really yummy and I'm generally not a fan of sausage.  If you or someone you know enjoys grilling, they would probably love this book.  My guy does!

What have you been reading or cooking?
