Herbal Butter Recipe

This is a pretty simple recipe with only three ingredients.  You are going to love it!

I'm using fresh oregano that is growing like CRAZY in our greenhouse, but most grocery stores have fresh herbs in their produce department.

Click HERE for my tip on chopping herbs, especially if the kiddos like to help.

1 Cup Butter at room temperature
1/2 Cup Oregano, finely chopped
1-2 Garlic Cloves, pressed or finely chopped

Stir the herbs into the butter.  I use salted butter.  Let rest at least 30 minutes, or in the refrigerator overnight.

Today I am using this delicious butter to make a lovely toast as a side for Black Bean Soup.  Just brush the softened Herbal Butter on your favorite crusty bread, sprinkle a little cheese on top and toss in the toaster oven until crispy golden brown.

'Not a fan of oregano?  Click HERE for another Herbal Butter version I posted or check out my Recipes Page or my page for Herbs!

What's cooking at your place?

  2. I just made some of this kind of butter! It was for some salmon. I had so much leftover, I cooked some of it with my snow peas. This is great to keep on hand! :) Thanks for sharing at Dishing It & Digging It!
