How We Met and Gifts for My Guy

When my Handsome Husband walks into the room, my knees still go weak and my stomach flutters.

I always want him feel loved, especially on holidays, but buying gifts for guys can be difficult!

This year, his beard is long, so I went with selections from

They have some cool options for furry fellows including beard oil and mustache combs.

It's OK.  He already knows.  We've been together 31 years.  ;-)  Here's how I found him!

It's funny what memories are clearer than others.  I can tell you every detail about meeting my soul mate.  He was wearing white Nike basketball shoes, a pair of Levi's jeans, a black shirt, and a black baseball cap with a round yellow logo.  My guy was (and still is) tall with a dark tan and a beard.  There is lots of Native American heritage in his family.

The first time I saw Handsome Husband, my first thought was, "Dang!  That is the best looking man I have ever seen in real life."  He had walked into the restaurant where I was working.

My first words to him, "Would you like a booth or a table?"
His first words to me, "A table."

On the day we met the restaurant was quiet.  No other customers were there.  After bringing his order, we chatted until closing time.  He kept coming back day after day.

I was (and still am) completely smitten with this man.

I can hardly wait to watch him open his gifts.  What have you chosen for your sweetheart this year?

;-)  -Marci

  1. What a great story! Sounds like he may have had similar thoughts about you when you all met. Congratulations on 31 years and wishing you any more! My hubby had a beard when we began dating but hasn't had one until this fall. When we moved, he couldn't find his razor. When he finally did (I think it was in the drawer all along!) he decided to keep it for awhile. I love it! It's grayer than 28 years ago but he's still the most handsome man I know! Hope all is going well! Zenda

  3. Lovely story, and my wishes for many more years together. When I read "31 years" I thought wow, that's just wonderful. And then I realized that I've been married for twelve years, dated my husband nine years before that and we first met in 1992, so I'm not that far behind...

  4. That is so sweet! I honestly can't remember meeting my husband... we met in grade school. Though we did start dating at 16 so I guess technically we've been together 23 years. We no longer exchange gifts at Christmas but I did buy him an ornament of a pirate ship to remember our trip to Myrtle Beach this summer.

  6. Beautiful story. I have also been married to my husband for 31 years. We met in college and I can't believe how fast the time has past. I try to buy him something that is a surprise every year, even if it's just something little in his stocking but I feel like men are hard to shop for. He'd probably say the same about me. Merry Christmas!

  11. Congratulations Marci, 31 years is a great achievement and you both still look as happy as you did on your wedding day. My hubby also has a big bushy gorgeous beard and I also got him some beard oil last year for his birthday. It makes such a difference to the condition and he says his skin also feels so much better. Wishing you guys many, many more happy years together.
