For the past six months or so, there have been some crazy challenges between most of the fun girls in my workout classes!
It all begin when Edith got a FitBit and challenged everyone to 10,000 miles a day every day for the month of July.
So, some of us used apps on our phones while others hopped on the FitBit wagon, all of us trying to out-step the others! ;-)
Eleven of us are having a friendly competition that began January 1 and goes until March 20. We are calling it the Winter Challenge!
We are really just hoping to get back in the fitness groove after enjoying the holidays. I certainly need some encouragement during these dark, cold months! Do you?
Even though snow was in the forecast, I enjoyed these two lovely trails on a Saturday morning.
It was fun to get some steps AND learn about local history!
Historic Van Winkle as well as Sinking Stream are both part of the trail system at Hobbs State Park just east of Rogers, Arkansas. There is one parking lot for both trails. Van Winkle is completely wheel chair accessible with lots of informational plaques.
Do you have any tips on how to get a few more steps each day?
I can use all the help I can get AND will be sharing the info with my workout buddies!

beautiful photos!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun challenge :)
we got fitbits too :) they make it so easy to remember to move all day long. My son's goal is 10,000 but I went with what it set for me (4384 really?) so we are all moving over here! Beautiful area to hike around!
ReplyDeleteMarci,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery!! I would love to be able to go walking but my need of a right knee relacement prevents me from walking any distance. I am doing my exercise bike though!! Thanks so much for stopping by!
