When we were making our reservations for a little getaway to Mount Magazine State Park, we noticed an option to rent ATVs and thought, why not? We signed up for the 3 hour tour even though we know what happened to Gilligan and Mary Ann. ;-)
We traveled about 17 miles over trails and forestry roads around Bear Creek Bluff Valley. Our guide did a great job stopping at interesting sites. We got to visit places that would have been very difficult to reach if we were hiking. The weather was absolutely perfect. It was so much fun!
The 4 Wheelers were equipped with power steering and automatic transmission, so I had no trouble at all handling this bad boy! I am such a goober, I was grinning the entire time.
See the big, goofy smile? It was kind of dusty that day, so I probably ate about a pound or so of dirt.
These folks weren't with our group, but you get an idea of the terrain. Lots of people were out with ATVs and dirt bikes that day. I'll be posting more photos of the places where we stopped along the route.
By the end of our ride, we were muddy, dusty, dirty and still grinning! We had a great time!

ReplyDeleteWhen we moved to British Columbia we first thought off-road motorcycles would be fun, but I just couldn't get the hang of shifting with my foot and still maintaining my balance. I then got a quad and life has been lots of fun. We have loads of logging roads and trails build by our local ATV club to use. Last summer we even bought a barge to haul our quads to remote logging roads to explore. Such fun. - Margy
