Garden Guest: Snowbird February 2021

The north side of our front yard is a certified  National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat.  Really!  We have a certificate!  You can do the same by providing food, water, cover and places for wildlife to raise their young.  It is so much fun to see all of the critters that stop by for a visit.  Children love it!

This feathery puff of cuteness is a dark eyed junco, but my family calls them snowbirds.

 What's happening in your backyard?

  1. Yesterday while watching the snow falling on the frozen lake we saw a fox running across it.

  2. I also have a certified habitat. :-) I love watching the birds. I have 3 regular bird feeders and 2 suet feeders. I also have a heated water bath. The birds love it! I have a lot of different types of birds that include the dark eyed Junco. We also have always called them snow birds. Enjoy!!
