Here's a photo of a few of my herbs! The star of this post happens to be Spearmint! If you've ever grown any member of the mint family, you already know they must be clipped and used frequently, or they are likely to take over your entire neighborhood!

A few months ago, I joined Weight Watchers and so far, have lost 19 pounds! As Independence Day festivities approached, I was concerned about staying on plan, but, of course, did not want to feel left out! Thankfully, a quick search brought me to Zero Calorie Virgin Mojito from Cleobuttera!
I already had a lovely pot of spearmint that needs frequent trimming. All that needed to be purchased was a lime and some diet soda. My grocery store happened to have a sale on Diet Sprite, so I went with that. No changes were made to her recipe. Well, OK. One change. Instead of muddling the mint, I placed in a shaker bottle with the juiced lime. After shaking vigorously, that mint was muddled! ;-) Since I seldom consume sodas, this was a really nice change of pace as we watched fireworks! Delicious, refreshing AND guilt free! Our friends had their fizzy drinks and so did I!

Great job on your weight loss! Your herb garden looks great!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss! I have grown mint before & it does spread easily. There's some growing by the dock for fishing down the road from our house. It's everywhere, but it smells lovely, ha ha!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss! The drink sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteThe mojito sounds delicious! I love the adult version, but there's always a lot of sugar.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss! My husband would love that mojito for sure!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 19lbs! That's amazing and it's great that you can still enjoy a mojito too :-)
