These vacation photos were tucked away and forgotten.
In February, we spent a week in Alabama celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary.
It happened to be raining our first day there, but we left our hotel room and enjoyed it anyway. 2016 was such a difficult year for us. This February vacation was exactly what we needed. Alabama is such a lovely state and that Southern cooking... Mmmmmm... It's hard to beat!
These grainy pix were taken on Gulf State Park Pier using Handsome Husband's phone. I didn't want to get my big camera out in the windy, wet conditions.
These pelicans didn't mind the tourists at all, probably realizing they are part of the attraction! What a gorgeous welcoming committee!
What do you enjoy on rainy days?

Love the picture of the Pelican sitting next to the "No Sitting or Standing on Rails" sign. Obviously Pelicans can't read!!
ReplyDeleteI like curling up with a good book or good show on rainy days. I saw a pelican on a drive through Arkansas recently and it surprised me. I didn't think they lived around here.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love Pelicans - rainy weather or not. Great captures. They certainly were tame to sit and let you get photos. Love that sign - and pelicans that either can't read or don't really care. LOL
ReplyDeleteHahaha! "No sitting or standing on the railing" didn't seem to apply to these guys! I can't believe how close you were able to get to them. We are heading to coastal GA soon and I LOVE watching them dive into the water for fish like dive bombers! I love having a good read or watching a movie I've seen over and over!
ReplyDeleteI love pelicans! I love to watch them fly over the water when they are in a group. It's such a beautiful site. My "Grandma & Me" link up is now live! I'd love to have you link up with me!
ReplyDeleteThe picture with the pelican and the "no sitting or standing on rails" is so cute! I love vacationing by the ocean and hope to make that permanent one day. I hope that you had a truly wonderful time! Thank you for sharing your photos with us at #BloggingGrandmothersLinkParty. Pinned and shared.
ReplyDeleteI love your rainy day pictures! And of course, I totally agree about how beautiful Alabama is!

The water is always a great place for scenery, even in bad weather. Love the pelicans.
