Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Even though we won't be hosting as many guests this year, we will be grateful to see each person! Have you decided what to wear yet? My maternal grandmother frequently told me, "You'll never regret looking your best." I haven't chosen my outfit yet, but my vintage doll is dressed and ready for company!
You might remember her October witch costume, which was Just a little bit Wicked. One of the key elements was a Pumpkin Patch Tutu using inexpensive headbands from our local dollar store.
These headbands are only three for a dollar! Yippee! There is a mountain of fabric stashed in my craft room. This time I found gold tulle for poof and one cotton fabric for the raggedy strips. To complete my doll's look, her cream onesie and tights were pulled from her dresser along with some cowboy boots. I love the look of crochet collars and never parted with mine from way back in the 80's. She's wearing a headband on her skirt as well as in her hair. The beaded safety pin charm was already complete in a box of thrift store crafty shenanigans. I remember one of my aunts making these as Christmas ornaments. It's just pinned to her headband for easy costume changes later.
I love adding to my vintage doll's wardrobe. The little girls who visit get so excited when they see her clothes, especially the tutus! I don't think I will ever get too old to play with dolls!
