Everyone who drinks my sweet tea always says, "How do you make sweet tea? I love this!" Here is the recipe:
Stone Cottage Sweet Tea
Water
Ice
1 Cup Sugar
2 Family Size Tea Bags
Fill a large sauce pan about three fourths full of water. Add one cup of sugar. DO NOT STIR. Place the sauce pan over heat. Let the sugar MELT into the water. Once the water is boiling, turn off the heat. Do not boil the tea. Add two family size tea bags. I use a chop stick to "dunk" them under the water a couple of times. Let steep for at least 10 minutes. Pour the tea into a large 4 quart (one gallon) pitcher filled about halfway with ice. If the pitcher is not completely full, add more water.
You know what to do next. Pour yourself a glass and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteMarci, I'm not a tea drinker, but my husband loves it. He likes to make it himself and no wonder, how do you make something that you don't like yourself? I'm going to have to try your recipe and see if I can get a thumbs up! Thanks for sharing with us at Brag About It! Have a great week!

OK, now I know you're a Southerner, and if you aren't, we'll make you an honorary one. I'm one, but I've never known how to make good sweet tea. And you know Southerners drink sweet tea....always!
ReplyDeleteThanks for attending the #WednesdayAIMLinkParty, I shared your post.

ReplyDeleteI love sweet iced tea! Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us at Funtastic Friday!
ReplyDeleteSounds so refreshing! I prefer iced over a hot tea any time of the year :)
ReplyDeleteReading this reminds me of childhood summers.
ReplyDeleteOur only refreshing drink besides water was mothers version of iced tea.
It was black tea that had been steeped and cooled. More water added then three tablespoons of sugar added to the jug. Ice cubes added as a special treat or even some Lemon juice....but I preferred it plain and ice cold from the fridge!
Simple days.
My father especially enjoyed it after a long hot day in a car making factory ...all many many moons ago
I usually drink my tea black Marci and like the herbal blends. I've often heard of iced tea especially in the US but I haven't tasted it. I do know a cup of tea on a hot day is refreshing but now I should try it in the cool version.
