Prairie Skirt for the Win

Dressing little girls is such fun!

For this cute outfit, the skirt was sewn from fabric in my stash, but the shirt and jacket were purchased.  Find the FREE tutorial for this skirt right HERE!  ;-)  Our Cutie Pie next door received the ensemble as a Christmas gift.  Not pictured are neutral leggings so she can stay cozy if worn in Winter.

Everything came from my stash except elastic for the waist.  Floral fabric choices were in soft greens and blues punched with reds and corals.  I kept my thread the same teal color for the whole project, so it can be seen in some places, but blends with the material in other spots.

I also whipped up a matching purse.  Did you notice my post about her Pretty Lil Hat?  Click HERE to see it.

Gathered skirts are a great way to lessen the chances of fabric avalanches.  ;-)  Last year I made two for our granddaughters.  Click HERE to see their color choices.

What have you been sewing?

  1. Beautiful fabrics you have used, Marci! Love how you've teamed the skirt with the denim jacket - perfect combination. Thanks for the link back.
