This upcycle is so quick and so simple, I doubt you will need much of an explanation at all to create something similar.

My project begins in a thrift store where I noticed this cute pig inside a frame. It was half price so, of course, it came home with me.

As with most projects that begin in second hand places, first order of business was dismantling all the pieces and getting them clean. Notice the sweet swine is stitched to white paper. Without contrast, the cutie pie is almost invisible!

Back to my project!
I carefully cut around the stitches and traced the bovine pattern for later projects. My plan for Christmas decor this year will be a combo of handmade and cottage core.

Choosing the background took the most time! Once I settled on the rusty vintage stripe paper, my darling pig was attached with glue dots and tucked back inside her frame.

ReplyDeleteYour framed pig is a cutie! The new background really makes him pop and the frame is a great way to display him. I trace stuff for future projects, too ~lol. You just never know when you might need that pattern down the road.
