Creating a Half-ish Daisy Traceable

Mark 11:22-25  Jesus replied to them, "Have faith in God.  Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he say will happen, it will be done for him.  Therefore, I tell you, everything you pray and ask for - believe that you have received it and it will be yours.  And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you for your wrongdoing."

For today's tutorial, I'd like to teach you how to draw your own half-ish daisy.  Depending on how you choose colors, it could also be a sunflower, or a vibrant gerbera daisy.  Your choice!  ;-)

Please use whatever you have on hand.  I'm using:  Nesting bowls to create circles, pencil, eraser, black marker, and paper measuring 8.5 x 11 inches.

If you've read my Bible Journaling tutorials before, you won't be surprised to see these. 

Clear nesting bowls help me create circles.  Please use round objects of your choice.  For those of you who can draw a circle free hand (WOW!  How do you do that?) skip the bowls.

I'm using 8.5 x 11 inch paper so you can see what's happening in my photos.  This won't actually work in any of my Bibles.  Please consider size before choosing your round objects.  How do you plan to use your traceable?  What size is the Bible you will illustrate?  Cut your paper to those measurements before starting.  Once that decision is made, create two half - ish circles, one inside the other.  At this point, expect your page to look like a half-ish donut.

For the first layer of petals, draw three leaf shapes reaching from the inner circle to the outer circle.

Add petals between the first three, and to the edge of your page, using your two circles to keep them proportionate with the other petals.

Add a layer of petals behind the first ones.  Extending the tips to the edge of your outer circle.

The outer circle can now be erased.

Adjust any petals that might be "bugging" you.  I didn't care for the top left center, so I did some tweaking and erasing.

Add lettering if you like.  I begin with the letter in the center of my word and work out from there.

Once you're happy with the pencil layout, trace over everything with black marker.

All that's left to do now is erase any unwanted pencil marks.
