Luke 10:27 He answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind;" and "your neighbor as yourself."
I have a couple of groovy Bible Journaling pages for you today. One leaves the text readable, one does not.
Last week, I published instructions for creating the Fun Tie Dye Circles for "Love the Lord". This week, those will be used, along with scraps in my stash, for a layered, multi media page.
I'm using: Illustrating Bible from Dayspring, acrylic paints, round cotton puff, paper scraps left over from other projects. I think just about any flowers, people or characters would work well. Please use whatever you have on hand.
Handsome Husband purchased a set of these acrylic paints for me at Sam's Club. If you prefer to not cover the words of your Bible, these remain transparent. In the above page, all of the text remains readable, as my "Love the Lord" circle is only glued on one side. It can be lifted on the left.
Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.
Not all the print can be read in this layout. I have glued and written over some of it. This is my Illustrating Bible from Dayspring. It was purchased specifically for my worship with illustrations. I am very blessed to have different Bibles I prefer for reading and studying.
For the background, four different colors of green were chosen.
After taping off anything I want protected, lines of paint were squished across my page. Then I used a round cotton puff to gently pull the color across the page, creating blurry stripes.
My tie dye circle is the biggest piece I'm using today, so a spot is selected for it first. I dug through my old scrap booking left over bits and found some flowers along with a few summery quotes. These have been in my ridiculously large stash for ages. I no longer know where they were purchased. Page composition is still quite a mystery to me. I just ponder my scripture and lay out items until I'm happy.
Last week I shared that
Psalm 37:4a Delight yourself in the Lord...
is one of my favorite verses, so I was particularly pleased with the little "delight" scrap in the upper left corner.
Everything gets glued in place.
Next, I outline most of it in black marker and trim any bits hanging off the side of my page.
I'd like to mention these darling pets and people are from a printable purchased thru Bible Journaling Ministries.
What have you been journaling?
;-) -Marci
