Book Review: The Velveteen Daughter

 by Laurel Davis Huber

Partial synopsis from Good Reads The Velveteen Daughter reveals for the first time the true story of two remarkable women: Margery Williams Bianco, the author of one of the most beloved children s books of all time The Velveteen Rabbit and her daughter Pamela, a world-renowned child prodigy artist whose fame at one time greatly eclipses her mother's. But celebrity at such an early age exacts a great toll.

My thoughts:  The author writes about specific decision making moments, offering perspective from Marjory and then from Pamela.  It was very interesting to consider the viewpoint of mother and her  daughter.  Marjory is a well known author and her daughter, Pamela, becomes a famous artist.  They both lived extraordinary lives in the company of many brilliant minds.    Pamela's struggle with depression is covered as well as the treatment given to her.  For me, this was a fascinating book.

What have you been reading?
