Dalton's Favor-I-test Cookies

It's time to share a Favorite Family Recipe!  If you've been reading my blog very long, you already know these recipe posts make me feel incredibly sentimental.  This recipe comes from Kim, my best friend throughout junior high and high school.  We can share some pretty silly stories about our adventures as teenagers!  I still have the small cookbook she created ages ago when we both had small children, but it is torn and splattered.  Her son's name is Dalton and these are still his "favor-I-test" cookies.

Joining me today are these lovely bloggers:

Dalton's Favor-I-test Cookies

1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup Milk
2 cups Sugar
3 tablespoons Cocoa

Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute, stirring well.  Remove from heat and add:

1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla
3 cups uncooked Oatmeal

Mix well and drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.  Let cool.

I've seen several versions of no-back Chocolate Oatmeal cookies, but this is the one we prefer.  Now let's see what the other bloggers have brought to the table.  (pun intended)

  1. Whenever I visited my childhood friend, her father would usually greet me with cookies very similar to these. Yummy! You made me very nostalgic. Thank you!

  4. I love the simplicity of this recipe, you really could whip up a batch of these quickly and with the oats they can almost be classed as healthy too so win win!

  5. Ooh! I like the addition of the peanut butter. I bet that adds a nice flavor to them. Pinned.
