Make Your Own Paper Dolls for De Stash Challenge

Do you love playing with paper dolls?

Me, too!  The adorable little girls around here love them, too!

After looking around for a while online, I found a free paper doll template.  It was loaded into my DIY cutting machine software.  Please don't despair if you only have scissors.  There are plenty of free printable dolls, too!  Click HERE if you'd like to see mine.  For this project though, first I had the DIY machine cut out the doll and some dresses in both beige and brown.

The granddaughters' current favorite colors are pink and purple, so I swapped the doll template for a couple more dress templates and cut again.

Now you could certainly stop right here.  Two dolls plus several dresses is plenty of fun, right?

Sure!  But it will make for an awfully short blog post.  ;-)

In my stash, there are stamps, buttons, brads, and bits of ribbon

along with pink eyelet lace,

washi tape, sequins, markers and tulle.

With just the tiniest bit of time and glue, look at the difference!  This time everything for my project was already on hand.  What would you design for your paper dolls?  Are those items already in your stash?

Every month, a group of bloggers challenge each other to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies!  I hope you have time to visit everyone!

  2. My goodness! What pretty little dresses! I'm sure that's pleased your little granddaughter too. If I was a kid, I would love those. In fact, I played with paper dolls. Back when I was growing up, it was Betsy McCall. Wish I still had those, but I love yours too! You really prettified them a lot Marci!

  5. OMG - I love this one!!! I have a little goddaughter and I am thinking now: Should I make this for her or could she even be a little helping hand in decorating the dresses? She is 4 soon. This will be a project we'll be doing together this winter. Pinning it.

  8. Super cute! It would make a great project to make with grandchildren. I used to love rummaging through my grandmother's scrap and stash pile to make something pretty.

I am pinning this project to make with my grand daughter and for our Operation Christmas Tree boxes.I think girls everywhere would love to have a set of dolls like these.
I especially like the dress made of tulle. But all the dresses are sweet.
    Thanks for sharing.

  19. I loved paper dolls when I was a kid. I'm thinking this would work well with felt too and it's probably more durable, especially for younger children. I love the way you added the skirts and the other details. Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned!
