Christmas Tradition

This sweet little angel topped our Christmas tree for many years!

Our son colored it  W A A A Y  back when he was in pre-school.  His little face beamed when his angel was placed in its rightful spot at the very top!  She was perfect when the rest of the tree was filled with hand made ornaments.  Over time, though our babies got older and asked for a "real" angel.

This one, though, is very carefully tucked away in a safe little box.  She always makes me smile!

What are some of your favorite traditions?

  1. Oh Marci, how sweet! You are certainly blessed to still have this lovely little angel :) How I love pulling out the ornaments and remembering who gave them to us or why we bought them.

We like to go out for Chinese food one night during Christmas week and afterwards drive around the neighborhood to look at lights. I did that before I got married and now that I have a family of mine we do it :) Hugs to you!

  2. All I have left of my family is traditions. My husband and I haven't really developed any traditions of our own, so I enjoy following some of the favourites from my childhood. Our stocking are hung even though Santa isn't as good about filling them any more. One thing I love are Christmas lights, we fill our home with them most of the year (why leave the joy of Christmas to just one month after all.) A lot of our traditions revolve around holiday foods. And I take out Mom's handmade decorations. It all makes Christmas a warm, wonderful season. Because each item brings back good memories. - Margy

  4. The angel is so cute. We have quite a few traditions. 1St every year we buy or make a new ornament for the Christmas tree. That way the tree is full of memories. On Christmas Eve Santa accidentally drops one present for my son (on his way past to the places where Christmas comes 1St). It's new slippers, pjs and dressing gown. Stockings 1St thing whilst daddy is still asleep. My son always gets a boardgame which we play after lunch. He also gets at least one book. Then when things quiet down and people get a bit drowsy and bored we have Santa's late delivery. The door bell goes and one of the children go to the door and find a box saying sorry I forgot to deliver this. Who ever is in house they get something. It's something silly like a fishing game etc. We also do a card for the family of my son. We hang ours in order so you can see a picture of him through the ages. Christmas just fills me with such joy! Me and my son are making a gingerbread house together.
