Marci, in high school two of my friends and I drove to Missouri & Arkansas during spring break. (Yes! During high school, by ourselves. We were quite adventurous.) We stayed at Roaring River, our campsite backed to a dry creek. Missouri experienced a flash flood overnight and by morning our creek had become part of the roaring river. We were able to make it out of there, as we left we passed a lower campground that wasn't as lucky. There were tents and coolers floating everywhere. Despite that episode, I will remember Roaring River and the surrounding area for the beauty that it is.
Marci, "Mr. Ed" and I take an Annual Trout Fishing Vacation to Bennett Spring State Park each Autumn. We have heard of Roaring River, but have never ventured there. Thank you for sharing your "day trip" photos! Fondly, Pat
Marci, I love state parks, and have enjoyed many in my area. If I ever get to Missouri, I want to go to Roaring River! Thank you for sharing your beautiful photographs with us at Treasure Box Tuesday! :)
Your photos are awesome. I've never been to Roaring River but I think I'd like to see it now.

Gorgeous pictures! The water is so clear that is awesome to see the fish that way. Did you go camping?
