Dill, Lots of Dill

Las year, there was one small dill seed that blew from the garden into the greenhouse.  One small seed grew into one small plant.  The lovely dill was used until it bloomed.  The blooms are so pretty, I left it alone and it went to seed.  Guess what happened.  Lots of seeds...

Lots of dill...

What to do?  Well, you know how I love to stamp brown paper bags.

Then dill was snipped and snuggled inside.  All the ladybugs, blue birds and bumblebees hopped into a red wire basket.

The little bags of fresh herbs made lovely gifts at a garden club meeting!  I have become a Dill Philanthropist.  ;-)

How would you use LOTS of dill?  Please help!

  2. Oh so cute!!! What a lovely gift to receive. I told you my recipe but here it is again:
    1/2 Cup Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
    1/2 Cup Sour Cream
    3 oz Cream Cheese, Softened
Lots of (4 tablespoons) Dill Weed
    1 Tsp Seasoned Salt
1 Tsp Chopped Onion Flakes (optional)
    1 Tsp Parsley
Mix it up and serve in bread bowl. I like wheat thins or triscuits. Also optional is a few red chili pepper flakes to give a little pep.

  3. Sour cream and snipped dill on a baked potatoe can be a meal for me. I'd love to have that much dill. It was growing well in my garden and then it was gone. That's what West Texas heat can do to things. I'll be trying again next April.

We're having a party at Tumbleweed Contessa. I'd love for you to share this with us. What'd You Do Last Weekend? Grab a button and come back next week to see what everyone has been doing.

    Have a wonderful day! Linda

  4. Wow, I love dill. It just looks so beautiful. I really like it with yogurt and lemon. It's also amazing on grilled zucchini. Anything Turkish!

  8. I don't really use herbs much because my husband likes plain food. Very cool, though. Thanks for coming over and visiting and sharing at What to do Weekends. Linda
