Gobblin' Gus

 

When Danni at Silo Hill Farms made caramel corn, she placed it in the cutest polka dot container!  (She is a total genius with containers.  Check out this Spooky Tool Box !)

 

So when I made  her recipe with my twist it HAD to have a fun container.     

 

 

Meet Gus.  Gobblin' Gus!  I love his wacky teeth! 

 

Gus began with a clean container that used to hold organic coconut oil.  There is a sandwich bag taped around the top and then tucked inside the plastic jar to ensure NO PAINT is accidentally sprayed inside.

 

 

Packing tape secures the sandwich bag tucked inside the jar.

 

Next, round stickers were placed for eyes.  Torn address labels were used for his teeth.  For some reason, I really wanted Gus to have crazy teeth.

 

Next a couple coats of purple spray paint were applied to the jar and gray was applied to the lid.

 

Using a black paint pen, his eyes and mouth were outlined and his eyebrows and nose were drawn!

 

Googly eyes were attached using scrap book adhesive dots.

 

 

Gus was filled with The Best Caramel Corn Recipe EVER!

 

I love how the caramel corn looks kind of like brains and that his teeth are all sorts of goofy!

 

Adding plastic wrap and a gift tag, Gobblin' Gus was a welcome gift for new neighbors!  They loved him and the caramel corn! 

 

I think the same idea could be used for all kinds of fun containers!  What would you make with a clear container and some spray paint?
